VPL 2 Report: Beaumaris 1-3 Essendon Royals

Beauy suffered a 4th straight defeat in VPL2 Competition to continue a difficult start to the second season at VPL/NPL level.

Coming from the back of defeats at Pascoe Vale, Nunawading and North Sunshine, the team had their first home game at Beaumaris Reserve.

Another poor goal conceded early gave the home team another difficult start, but a free kick from Adam Hester  into the corner , equalised, and Beauy worked their way into the game. A penalty awarded to Royals meant going behind again , but the team battled hard  and efforts from Max Pereira and Danny Brooks struck the wood work before the break, but Beauy could not equalise.

The second half started and again Beauy were going toe to toe with the previously unbeaten Royals and had a number of opportunities, before a red card for a Royals defender with 30 minutes to go gave the home side an even better chance  get back on terms.

Despite their best efforts and dominating possession for the  majority of the half Beauy could not force the equaliser, and with 10 minutes to go  a breakaway from the Royals saw them grab a goal and run out the match.
