Touted as the biggest soccer club in the country, Victory came to Beauy Reserve on Saturday to play for NPL3 Competition points.
With a larger than normal crowd buoyed by the interest in the A league giants, Beauy started brightly with a couple of early chances against the ladder leaders.
As the first half wore on, Beauy were hampered by losing Keegan Guy and Alan Sheehan to injury before the 30 minute mark, but Victory’s quick and incisive passing game saw them win a penalty, which they converted, and immediately thereafter, with skipper Sam O’Regan temporarily off the pitch, a second goal went in to give the visitors a comfortable lead at half time.
The second half was a battle for Beauy conceding a poor third goal with a long keeper clearance from Victory seeing the striker run clear and tuck in easily, before a fourth goal completed the scoring.
U21’s were also beaten, but both sides looking forward to making amends against Goulburn Valley next weekend, again at home.
