Beauy will consider it two points dropped after a last gap equaliser from the Suns last weekend at Beauy Reserve.
The home side started well against promotion chasing GVS, and took the lead when a free kick from debutant, Yosuke Sazuka, crept into the bottom corner, to spark celebrations amongst his team mates!
GVS equalised when the ever dangerous winger from the Suns got away and finished well, leaving the teams tied at the half time break.
In the second half Beauy pressed forward and were the better team, capitalising when striker Ryan Brown headed home. Minutes later Brown was away towards goal and was pulled back by the Suns skipper seeing a red card, and leaving the visitors one short .
Beauy had chances to win the game with several openings which they failed to take before drama in the 93rd minute. Keeper Jarrod Hill, was yellow carded by the referee for taking too long to dispose of the ball from his penalty area, and then, somewhat unusually, an indirect free kick was awarded for the same offence! The Beauy wall was porous as the Suns striker drove his shot low under the jumping wall to find the corner of the net.
U21’s learned some lessons after a bright start and taking the lead against the Suns, but went down to defeat due to a number of defensive errors.
Next week at Boorandara.
