Beauy trains 22 budding Junior Referees

Monday 19 June saw 22 Beauy junior players attend a Football Victoria (FV) training program to become junior referees. As part of the club’s commitment to develop our junior players BSC paid for the course and on completion of their Level 4 referee certificate each player can make themselves available to referee Beauy junior games each weekend.

Teaching players and parents to respect referees begins with an understanding of what the role of a referee is and knowing the laws of the game. Following the lead of U15 goalkeeper Will Miller who has qualified and is regularly refereeing games, each player was provided with the referees kit comprising jerseys, cards, whistles, flags and the Football Australia book Laws of the Game which is their go to reference document on how to apply the laws in a match situation.

Beauy VP Dave Richards and Director of Football Christian Liberona led the session with experienced FV referees Senko Rastocic and Pouya Ghadiriancoaching and assessing all the players to begin a new chapter in their football development. Those qualifying and being able to referee Beauy junior games are:

  • Roeline Heikamp

  • Seppe Heikamp
