Goal Kick
(or Small Sided Game) to give it its new title will be
starting for the, New to Football group, on Saturday 10th of May and will run
for around 16 Weeks.
Sessions
will be at 9:00am each Saturday at Beaumaris Reserve, off Reserve Road,
Beaumaris. Sessions will consist of a short period of skills training followed
by a 4v4 game. Attached above is a short information flyer for parents. The
empasis will be mainly on the game side, with the children to have as much fun
as possible. note SSG is about providing
children with the best possible environment to simply play the game.
If you
require further information on SSG look at the FFV website.

I will be
looking for a number of parents to help me run the sessions approx 2 per
group of 8-10 children. To act as coaches and game leaders. I already have
a few volunteers.
I intend
to run a Volunteer Training, on a date to be confirmed before we start with the
assitance of a coach from the FFV. Please put up your hand, especially if you
have some experience, with teaching young kids or football the duties are far
from onerous.

The introduction of SSG has been a hot topic of conversation around the country. Andy
Jackson, publisher on FourFourTwo and the Full90, argues that
those that are not convinced of the benefits of SSG are missing the
point.
