Marcus Stergiopoulos made over 230 Australian National Soccer League (NSL) appearances and has also gained international experience playing in professional leagues throughout Malaysia, England & America, a career which spanned over 17+ years as a professional footballer.

Stergiopoulos turned his attention away from playing to coaching, where Marcus currently holds an FFA Advanced B Licence, with the intention of obtaining the FFA Advanced A Licence in the coming year.

A big crowd favourite during his time in the Australian NSL, Stergiopoulos was a genuine two-footed midfielder who gained a reputation for his tireless work ethic, while his determination and hunger for success had him regarded as one of the most committed players in the NSL.

Stergiopoulos’ first venture into senior coaching landed him at Croydon City FC in 2013, where Stergiopoulos was responsible for rebuilding a team from scratch to challenge for promotion. Success soon followed in 2014, when Stergiopoulos lead the club to it’s first silverware in 25 years winning the SL4 East Championships and then taking out the double by being crowned the FFV 2014 State 4 Champions, playing a pro-active, attacking based style of football based on strong collective team principles.

A year out of the game in 2016 due to family and work commitments, Stergiopoulos is excited about the challenge ahead in 2017.
