Boys U11-13

Congratulations to the Beaumaris Boys U12

Congratulations to the Beaumaris boys who won the Easter cup u12 competition on April 1st at Edithvale reserve.

The boys returned to Chelsea as last year’s u11 champions so were expecting a tough round of competition ahead of them.

After going a goal up in the opening game against Chelsea u12s , Beauy went in at half time 1-1 after conceding against the run of play. After a tight second half two late goals saw Beauy through 3-1. The boys went on to comfortable wins in the next three rounds and secured their place in the grand final as group winners against Chelsea u13s who finished runners up. Beaumaris went into the GF half time with a 2-1 lead.  Chelsea made Beauy pay for squandering a number of first half chances with an equaliser mid-way into the second. Beaumaris immediately hit back however with two quick goals to quell any Chelsea comeback. A late OG gave Chelsea a glimmer of hope of penalties but the boys got bodies behind the ball and with a string of fine saves from goalkeeper and man of the match James Wikman locked in a deserved 4-3 win. After 2 and a half hours of football everyone went home happy they did themselves, their coach and the club proud.
